'Being at Barca became hell'

André Gomes spoke almost a year ago for 'Panenka', leaving comments that sparked debate. However, he wanted to make it clear that that time is behind him. 

"It has happened to me on more than one occasion that feeling of not wanting to leave home. People look at you, I was afraid to go out into the street out of shame. I don't allow myself to get rid of frustration, so what I do is not bother anyone, as if I felt ashamed", said the Portuguese.

"Maybe the word isn't the right one but it became a bit like hell because I started to feel more pressure," he added.

Now, he has spoken again, but this time for 'Liverpool Echo'. "I didn't mean everything I said. At the time I was suffering a lot and in distress and I left everything out in the open. At Everton it was very good because I understood that because I love football and it's my job I have to enjoy it more," he said. 

"Sometimes we don't stop and don't realise that the most important thing is to be happy. During my time at Barcelona, there were good things and very bad things," he said. 

André Gomes' future looks to be with Everton for a long time. According to 'Sport', Barcelona is one step away from closing with Everton his permanent transfer. Barcelona will ask for around 25-30 million euros.
