The transfer window closed on the 5th October. Bayern brought in a plethora of players with Sané, Sarr, Nianzou, Douglas Costa, Choupo-Moting, and Marc Roca among them.
But Bayern missed out on a key target. According to 'Marca', Munich were getting ready for one big blockbuster signing in particular: they wanted Fede Valverde in Germany.
The Real Madrid midfielder was the number one pick from Hansi Flick and his coaching staff, who saw him as a perfect fit for Bayern. As a result, they reached out to Los Blancos.
But Real Madrid didn't even consider letting Valverde leave. The player himself was equally stubborn, rejecting the chance of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu out of hand.
Fede Valverde has a long contract at Real Madrid. He signed until 2025 and is perfectly happy in the Spanish capital. So happy in fact that the Uruguayan told Bayern Munich he has no plans whatsoever to leave the Spanish champions.
He made it clear that he has his entire career ahead of him and he wants to spend it at Real Madrid. "I've still got a lot to learn", he said recently in an interview.
