Nowadays, it is difficult to imagine Bayern Munich without Robert Lewandowski. At the same time, it is not easy to think of the striker wearing another shirt which is not Bayern's.
The Pole, who is in his eighth season, is now an institution at the club. He gradually getting closer to Gerd Muller's goalscoring record and it does not look like his goalscoring tally will drop in the near future.
However, it is also a reality that his contract at the Allianz Arena ends in summer 2023. This generates uncertainty among part of the fanbase and they are worried about the possibility of their most important player leaving.
Herbert Hainer certainly does not think that. The club's president showed his intention during an interview for 'Sky Sport', saying that he is confident in seeing Lewandowski stay at the club until he retires.
"Our sporting director and his team are in permanent contact with the players. We still have a little bit of time with Robert Lewandowski. His contract runs until 2023. But, as I've said, I'd be happy for him to end his career at our club," Hainer said.
