Currently of the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, 17 year old Alphonso Davies has become somewhat of a sensation in the United States, so much so that German giants Bayern Munich have forked out £10 million to secure his services in January.
Despite being on the wrong side of a 3-0 result between the teams this past weekend, where Swede Ibrahimovic netted twice, Davies has received some great praise from the former Ajax, Barcelona, Inter, AC Milan and Manchester United striker.
Ibrahimovic has predicted a "bright future" for the young defender, but has warned that the youngster must not be overawed by the great players he will face in moving to the Bundesliga, both teammates and opponents alike.
" I just hope he's ready when he goes to Bayern, because when he gets there he'll be lonely and it will be competitive, so he has to be mentally strong," he said.
"If he sees the big players, he should not show too much respect. You go there for one reason: you're part of the team. It's up to him to do the rest. I see a bright future!'
Ibrahimovic continued: "If he goes to Bayern, he must be a good player, because the club does not bring bad young footballers. At a club like Bayern, he will learn a lot, if they have seen something in him, then something big."
Despite his tender age of 17 years old, Davies has already made 78 appearances in the MLS, as well as seven caps for the Canadian national team, scoring three times.
Bayern Munich will be hoping to further the youngster's progress during his time in Germany, with the aim of making him into their next greatest star.
