Batshuayi has hardly featured for Chelsea since making his big-money move from Marseille in the summer and is yet to start a single Premier League game this season.
The Belgium international has made 10 appearances in the Premier League, all of which have come from the bench, amassing to just 76 minutes of football.
Despite just the one goal in England's top-flight this season, Batshuayi has shown his goalscoring capabilities in the EFL Cup, scoring twice in three appearances.
Batshuayi's absence from the Chelsea starting line-up is almost entirely down to the form of Diego Costa, but with the Spain international suspended, Batshuayi is finally set to be given his chance in the Premier League when Chelsea take on Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
Nemanja Matic is confident that Batshuayi will make the most of his opportunity.
"When you have Diego in the team it is very hard to get a chance because he is playing so well and scoring goals, but I'm sure Michy is ready to take his opportunity because he is working hard every day," Matic told the London Evening Standard.
The Serbian also believes that Batshuayi will have improved as a player after working with Costa.
"Of course he has benefited from working with Costa,' Matic added. "It was the same with me seven years ago. It was very good for me to see how Frank Lampard played, how Michael Ballack played and Michael Essien.
"So it is good for Michy and a good experience for him to see Diego's movement. He will have learned from watching and playing with Diego".
