Bartomeu told 'Cataluyna Radio': ''As you will understand, I cannot talk about this topic, we have the upmost respect for the players who work in other clubs, first we have to finish our own season at the end of June and then, on 1st July we will see.''
The Barca president was elusive in giving details, saying: ''Barca is working hard, although I cannot say what we are working on, we have been working and we know what we have to do.''
''All the Catalans want the best players to join their club, but that's impossible, you have to realise that Barca already have very good players, as we have demonstrated this season.''
Griezmann's release clause will drop to €100million on the 1st July, which is possibly why the club is keen to wait until that point to discuss the Frenchman's potential transfer. Although for Barca, money is unlikely to be an issue.
Bartomeu said: ''If we talk about money, Barca is one of the biggest clubs in the world, it is in the top two or three clubs in terms of financial position, and this year's investments, which may seem excessive but we can make allowances for them.''
Despite giving little away, the Barca president's words will likely cause Atletico Madrid into panic mode, as they seek to stop the 'Azulgrana' from poaching their star striker ahead of next season.
