Barcelona will open disciplinary proceedings against Arthur Melo

The news broke in Barcelona on Monday when Arthur did not attend the PCR tests that all the players in the Barça squad underwent. All of them, of course, except the Brazilian midfielder, who was practically on the run.

The former Gremio player went to his native Brazil and called the club to confirm that he had no intention of returning to Barcelona, and to ask for the immediate termination of his contract so that he could begin his career as a player with Juventus.

Arthur's attidue surprised the Catalan club, whose leaders met to make a decision on the player who has arrived this Tuesday.

As 'Mundo Deportivo' reports, the club has opened disciplinary proceedings against the midfielder.

The club also declined the player's request to cancel his contract, which means the war between the two involved parties has been declared.

A sad epilogue for a player whose arrival excited all of Barcelona in the summer of 2018. Many saw in him a worthy successor to Xavi Hernández, but this bitter issue marks the end of his time at Barcelona.
