The 2020-21 Nations League will cost UEFA 100 million euros for the clubs who loaned their players to attend their countries' training camps. In total, 240 million euros will be distributed by the organisation, according to 'Mundo Deportivo'
The remainder, some 140 million, relates to the European Championship finals in the summer of 2024. A total of 249 matches, including the preliminary qualifying round.
Such revenues shall be calculated on a number of players and matches basis. The criteria set by UEFA are as follows:
- Only players who were on the referees' match report are taken into account (maximum 23 players per team).
- Payments are only made to clubs belonging to a UEFA member association.
- No benefits can be allocated for players without a club.
Barcelona will benefit the most (with around 300,000 euros) after the last selection window for the six players in their squad who went to play with the Spanish national team (Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Gavi, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati).
