Spanish defender of Equatorian-Guinean origin Sergio Akieme will try his luck in Ligue 1. The Almeria left-back will join Stade Reims, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano, who also revealed the transfer value.
The Andalusian team will receive around 10 million euros including add-ons, and the deal will also include 20% sell-on clause. Barcelona, who are not in a good financial situation, will benefit from the sale of the player to the French club.
The left-back left the Catalan giants in July 2021 to join Almeria, but the 'Cules' reserved a 10% profit from his future sale, so Xavi Hernandez's side will earn around one million euros for the transfer.
In this way, Akieme puts an end to a spell of almost four seasons at the Andalusian club, in which he made 120 official appearances, 109 of which he was a starter, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
