Barcelona seek to renegotiate Spotify deal

FC Barcelona are at a pivotal juncture in their immediate future. They had hoped to already open the new Camp Nou, but must now wait a few more weeks. In the interim, they are actively pursuing lucrative deals to ensure they remain among Europe's top earners.
One key agreement involves Spotify, who not only sponsor their kit but also hold the stadium's naming rights. 'Mundo Deportivo' reports the club is already renegotiating the deal with the Swedish company.
The contract between FC Barceklona and Spotify expires on 30 June 2026. However, the music streaming firm can extend the agreement until 2030 for an additional €10 million, and until 2034 for a further €10 million annually.
Currently, Barça receives €65 million annually plus bonuses from Spotify, alongside €5 million for the Camp Nou naming rights. The naming rights agreement itself runs until 2034, with the annual fee rising to €20 million from 2026.
FC Barcelona believe that, given their current strong form, their brand is now worth more than the €80 million they would receive by 2034. They therefore seek to renegotiate the Spotify agreement now to boost their earnings.
