Barcelona resign from La Liga Delegate Commission

Barcelona demands from La Liga and its president, Javier Tebas, “absolute discretion” in the economic information provided by the club, and has announced that it will resign its seat on the Delegate Commission, the governing body and ordinary administration of the employers' association, in protest.
In this way, and through a statement, the Catalan side responds to the letter published on April 2nd by LaLiga, which assured that Barca does not have, as of today, balance or capacity for the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor and that in its interim financial statements for the first half of the 2024-2025 season there is no amount referred to the operation related to the VIP boxes, contrary to what was communicated by the club.
Barcelona stresses that it was unaware of this text and did not consent to its publication, so it has sent a letter to ask Tebas and any member of LaLiga to refrain from making comments or assessments on the financial information sent by the club because it is confidential material.
Barcelona argues that there is “inappropriate behavior by La Liga in making public the details of the financial information provided by the Club to the patrons, as well as making public the decisions of LaLiga's bodies against F.C. Barcelona.”
In the club's opinion, this represents “a flagrant breach with one of its affiliates”, as well as “an express breach” of Article 5 of the Regulations for the preparation of budgets, according to which the information, data and documents that clubs provide to La Liga will be "confidential" and will be “subject to data protection regulations”.
In addition, Barcelona considers that the note published by La Liga has been "the trigger for a large-scale smear campaign" and "an excuse to question the legitimacy" of the team's sporting achievements.
It has also pointed out that Tebas' statements against the registration of the two players are “a clear attempt at destabilization that is unacceptable”, and has remarked that “we cannot accept” his “constant public statements about details of the club's financial situation” and that he “expresses particular opinions” about leaving his players without a license.
Thus, the club has announced that it will initiate “appropriate action in defence of its interests”, and has demanded that LaLiga refrain from publishing data on the information provided by Barcelona, as well as from communicating any initiative undertaken by the employers' association in relation to Barça, and also demands that it remove from its website the letter published on April 2nd.
Finally, Barcelona has considered that the appeal filed on Monday by La Liga against the Resolution of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD) in favor of Barcelona and its players Olmo and Víctor, which maintains the registration of both, contains "false statements" and intends to "influence jurisdictional decisions".
