Firmino could be facing his last few months as a Liverpool player. The Brazilian's contract expires in June, although Klopp has already repeatedly stressed his importance to his team.
"He is crucial to us, the heart and soul of this team, the way we have played in the last few years has only been possible because of Bobby. So I'm very happy that I've been able to train most of the time here in pre-season so far. Everything looks very good, so I'm absolutely fine," Klopp commented recently.
However, he has not yet renewed his contract and, according to 'Sport', Barcelona are considering making him an offer in January to convince him for next season. It would be a new Brazilian for the Camp Nou.
There are still many months to go and anything can happen, but Firmino would have the green light from Xavi Hernandez. Liverpool will make a move soon and Firmino will have the upper hand.
Meanwhile, a similar case in Barcelona is that of Memphis Depay, whose contract with the 'Cules' also expires in 2023 and Liverpool could move to sign him if Firmino leaves.
Memphis was already close to leaving the Catalan giants in the summer to join Juventus, but in the end the deal did not happen. For 2023, this could be one of the most important operations... although there is still a long way to go.
