Barcelona confident they can complete Pogba signing

Paul Pogba is still a target for Barcelona, despite Man Utd not being able to replace him this summer should he leave.

Paul Pogba showed his star quality during the World Cup this summer, as he helped inspire his team on and off the field to win the tournament, including a goal in the final.

Rumours emerged as he was due to return to Man Utd training that Barcelona were interested in bringing the midfielder to the Camp Nou, and Pogba's agent Mino Raiola tried exceptionally hard to convince the 'Red Devils' to let him go.

According to the 'Daily Mail', the former Juventus star sent a text to United bosses asking to be allowed to complete a 'dream move' to the Spanish champions, although the club themselves deny that.

While the English transfer window shut on 9th August, the Spanish window is open for another 3 weeks and 'Mundo Deportivo' report that Barcelona are confident they can sign the player before then.

Ernesto Valverde has already added Malcom, Arthur and Arturo Vidal to his midfield, but is still looking for a special talent to replace one of the club's most decorated players, Andres Iniesta.

The deal is unlikely since Man Utd would be unable to find a replacement until January, but if the player is persistent enough a deal could be possible.

Manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that Pogba is happy at Man Utd, saying that "'He worked amazingly well Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. He's one of the players that I have to speak to, to see how physically and mentally he feels."
