Barca working on bringing in a midfielder similar to Pedri

Barca, despite still fighting for La Liga and Copa del Rey, also have one eye on next season. The 'Cules' are looking to strengthen several positions, with the midfield being the main priority.

Xavi Hernandez is realising that he does not have a player with similar profile to Pedri, a vital player for his scheme, and he has asked the board to look for a substitute for the Tenerife native.

'Mundo Deportivo', on Wednesday's front page, highlights several names, such as Bernardo Silva, Alberto Moleiro, Gundogan or Dani Parejo, among others... In the case of the City player, the Portuguese is the most liked.

Barca tried to sign him last summer without success and we will see if they are able to sign him in the next market. On the other hand, Moleiro is an option for the future.

The Las Palmas player is only 19 years old and has a clause of 30 million that would rise to 60 million in the event that the Spanish club promote to La Liga this season.

As for Gundogan, the midfielder finishes his contract with City on 30th June and would be a real bargain for the Catalan giants. His uncle, Christensen's agent, was recently spotted at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despi with Mateu Alemany.

Finally, Villarreal's Dani Parejo is 33 years old and could bring more experience to the 'Cules' midfield and a replacement for Pedri, who is currently recovering from a muscle injury.
