Both Ronald Koeman and Joan Laporta made this change in the club's stance clear in their latest press conference and now the club are supervising much more his training sessions, food and rest. According to 'Marca', they are even working with him on the emotional side of things.
They will do whatever possible so that the French footballer finally shines for Barcelona. He arrived as a superstar to replace Neymar and he has only shone on the odd occasion. He has always been hampered by a lack of confidence and a fear of getting injured again.
"We will manage to get him to play, play often and make sure that what happened in the past does not happen again. There is a plan from the club to show his talent and quality," Laporta said in relation to the French international.
But in order for progress to be made, Dembele also has to do his bit. His contract expires in 2022 and he could move to a new club for free in just a few months.
At Barca, there is confidence that Dembele will pen a new deal until 2025 and that he will be, because of his young age and experience in the team, one of Barca's leaders in the future.
