The civil war that Barcelona is going through makes Ronald Koeman's future at the Catalan club more than uncertain. The Dutchman does not seem to have the confidence of the board and the poor results could cost him his job.
In this sense, in the last few days a list of possible replacements that Barca are considering has been leaked. The list includes coaches such as Andrea Pirlo, Antonio Conte, Xavi Hernandez and Roberto Martinez.
The latter, current Belgium head coach, could have a clause in his contract that allows him to break his contract if he receives a call from one of Europe's top teams, which would facilitate his arrival at the Barcelona club.
Despite this, the Spanish coach was keen to address the rumours and partly disassociated himself from them, assuring that they are part of the usual dynamics of football.
"As you can imagine, there is nothing, really nothing, that I can comment on. Obviously, there are always rumours, they are always there. This is normal in football. When you lose three games, the rumours say you are going to lose your job," he commented on 'Eurosport'.
"When things are going well, when you get good results, there are also rumours. But there is nothing for me to comment on at the moment," said Roberto Martinez, who has already been strongly tipped to land at the Camp Nou.
