Leo Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann. The trident was called to lead Barcelona, but injuries have deprived the three of them from playing together. They have only played 33.5% of LaLiga matches together this season.

Antoine Griezmann arrived in Barcelona this summer as the third leg of a trident called to do great things. With Luis Suarez and Leo Messi they had to be one of the most feared attacks, but they have hardly coincided on the pitch.

The physical problems of the Argentinean and, especially, the Uruguayan, has meant that all three have only been together a third of the time during this season's LaLiga games.

Only in 12 games out of 27 have the three players coincided on the field. Of all of them, only three completed the 90 minutes together, in the victories against Eibar and Atlético and the draw against Real Sociedad.

So, extrapolating the data, Messi, Suarez and Griezmann have only played 816 minutes together out of the 2430 that have been played during the 27 days previous to the break by the COVID-19.

Suarez's meniscus injury disrupted all plans. Barcelona had to cope with their number '9' just when the trident was at its best. Luck has smiled on the Uruguayan, who will be able to play again

Suárez got injured just when the three men were at their best. Just before having to go through surgery,, the three strikers scored in the victory against Alavés. And a week earlier, Griezmann and Suarez themselves had scored.

The happy story began at Ipurua, as AS recalls. There, on one of the few occasions when they coincided 90 minutes, they shared the three goals of the victory, one each.

Barcelona fans have seen them score in the same match on three occasions. First against Mallorca, with Messi's 'hat trick'  and a goal for Griezmann and Suárez each. The history repeated against Alavés, although in this occasion the Argentinean only scored one.

In this way, and after the break, Quique Setién recovers a trident that he has not been able to use yet in La Liga, since he arrived after Luis Suárez's last match in La Liga.
