'AS' has indicated that Barcelona, Real Madrid and the Spanish Federation are upset at the fact a rearranged date has still not been set for the Clasico which was due to be played on 26th October.
When the match was postponed, the Competition Committee asked the clubs to reach an agreement on a new date within 48 hours. It seemed too easy for such an important game. The date and time for the Clasico have still not been set.
Four organisations have to give their approval. LaLiga do not want to play on 18th December, the date Barca and Madrid want because they believe the Copa el Rey that day will be overshadowed by it. As a result, they would get less money from TV rights for example. In fact, LaLiga wanted the match to be on a weekend again.
LaLiga say they can argue that a law supports them because they can put the date if it helps them get more money.
The Competition Committee received LaLiga's reasons and have decided to give the two clubs till 8pm on Tuesday to look for a date which is not 18th December. In any case, it looks like we will have to wait longer to find out when it will be played.
According to 'SER Catalunya', the Catalan side still want to play on 18th December. Club sources, according to joiurnalist Jordi Marti, say that the LaLiga president is the problem.
The committee would have to set the date if there is no agreement since the two clubs are determined to play on 18th December. In any case, Barca, Real Madrid and the RFEF are starting to get annoyed at the delay in making a decision.
