Jurgen Klopp will not be able to play Luis Diaz until after the World Cup, which his team country have to watch from home.
Interestingly, Barca president Joan Laporta was at an event in Colombia and admitted that the Colombian international was on Barca's radar: "We had to get our finances sorted, and Liverpool beat us to him".
"He's a great player who's loyal to his club, I'm not going to talk more about it, but at the time we were interested in him", he added.
In fact, Laporta confirmed that they were even negotiating with Luis Diaz: "We had a conversation with his agent but discussions with the English side were already a long way done".
