Martin Braithwaite is very close to leaving Barcelona. The 'Cule' club are looking to put him on the market as soon as possible, but the player is showing reluctance and that has meant that, at the moment, he is still in the squad.
The Catalan club have organised a meeting to try to resolve the situation. They hope that, this time, the positions will be closer and Braithwaite will end up accepting the proposal.
Barça intend to release him. In exchange, Braithwaite would have to forgive the club the two years of contract they owe him. According to 'Sport', the club are even willing to give in and would settle for him to forgive at least one of them.
To date, Braithwaite has refused to leave without Barça paying him what he is owed. The club hopes he will reconsider. Otherwise, they plan to terminate his contract unilaterally in the next few hours.
The Dane has had offers to leave this summer, but has declined them all. Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia have been the most interested and that could be the striker's next destination once his departure from FC Barcelona is finalised, which seems imminent.
