Financial Fair Play is causing Barcelona headaches. Until the 'Cules' are able to free up wages, the club cannot sign players. With this uncertainty, some of the players who are waiting for a call from the Catalan giants have opted for other options. Messi has already missed out on a move to Barca for this reason and the club do not want a repeat of this with any other player.
Barca have been left with no choice but to tackle 'departures operation' first. The club know that they are in a hurry to get rid of players if they want to bring in reinforcements this summer.
'Sport' claims that the Camp Nou side are already working on several farewells. There are players who have finished their respective loan spells and who do not count for Xavi, so they are looking for a way out. The Catalan newspaper mentions Lenglet, Umtiti, Dest, Collado and Gustavo Maia.
Barcelona would like to sell these players, if possible, before 30th June. If they manage to get rid of these five players, the club would save 50 million in wages, which would give them some room for manoeuvre.
In principle, the one who would find it easiest to leave would be Lenglet. The player recently returned from his loan spell at Tottenham, but Spurs were delighted with him and could immediately begin negotiations to sign him. Barca could get 10 million for his sale, in addition to the 16 million euro fee.
