A major setback for Barcelona. The agreement reached between the Catalan giants and Ferran Torres will not be enough for the footballer to change Manchester for Barcelona... at least not in January anyway.
Man City are refusing to loan out Ferran Torres to Barca, something the La Liga side wanted. The only option Bara have is to buy him, but Man City will not make it easy for them if they decide to do that either.
That means Barca have no other option but to wait. Right now, 'Marca' says that there is not enough in Barca's coffers to pay that amount of money. The same goes for Sterling.
Mateu Alemany travelled to Manchester to talk to Man City personally. The Premier League side made it clear: there were not going to loan out him out to Barca. The Catalans wanted a loan deal with an option to buy, but that was not accepted.
As a result of Man City's refusal, Barca only have the option of trying to sign him in summer. If Man City keep the asking price at 80 million euros, the club would find it more difficult due to Financial Fair Play in order to keep him.
Ferran Torres is desperate to move to the Camp Nou. He is excited about Xavi's project, but there is the most difficult part left and, at the moment, it is a long way off happening. Man City and Barcelona cannot reach an agreement so it looks like Torres will be a Man City footballer until at least June 2022.
