Jan Aage Fjortoft, a former retired footballer who is very close to the Erling Haaland family, has offered surprising comments to 'ESPN' in which he mentioned the two clubs who are most likely to get hold of the Norwegian youngster.
Just a few days after making it clear on 'Bild TV' that there is still no agreement between Real Madrid and the Borussia Dortmund player, the spokesman for the Haaland family has made it clear that Barca have fallen behind in the race for his signing. The fight is now between Real Madrid and Man City.
"I have the feeling that Real Madrid are ahead of Barcelona. It's all between two clubs, and I think they are Real Madrid and Manchester City. Barcelona I think are just a possibility. Something might hapen in the end, but at the moment, it's between two countries and two clubs," Fjortoft said.
"I deny that there has been any type of negotiations over Haaland. There still haven't been any meetings or conversations. Nothing. What I know is that the process which he is in at the moment depends on lots of details, In the end, Erling will have to make a decision," he added.
In addition, Jan Aage Fjortoft published on his Twitter account this Sunday: "Don't understimate the detailed job Team Haaland now are doing to find out where Erling Haaland is playing next season. Spain and England most likely with the usual suspects in front. Don't buy some clubs' spin though," he wrote.
