Ruben Neves has already said he would like to play at Barcelona, but the Catalan side is not sure that he is the ideal man to replace Busquets. While they continue to look around for other potential suitors, Manchester United and Arsenal are planning to go for him in January.
'The Sun' is who revealed the interest in him. The 'Red Devils' have been following the Wolves for as long as the 'Gunners', but in recent weeks, the most likely option has been Barcelona. His arrival in the Catalan city would be complicated if offers from Manchester and London come in.
Why? Because two things would happen. The first is that his price would go up. The Barca board does not want to spend too much money: Joan Laporta is running a tight ship and he has to watch the pennies. The second problem is that the midfielder will get impatient: despite Spain being where he would prefer to go, he will not wait around forever.
Ruben Neves' current market value is just under £40 million. That is the minimum that they would have to pay, but that does not take in to account a rise if United and Arsenal go for him. With regards to a possible reduction, it would only be possible if he put in a transfer request himself, which is not likely considering he has a contract until 2024.
