Leo Messi's injury was the first alarm bell which sounded this season. The reigning La Liga champions have suffered in the first few games and are continuing to fight to move back up the table after being five points off Atletico Madrid.
The attack is one of the things Valverde needs to work on. Barcelona are being less clinical when it should be the contrary when the arrival of players like Antoine Griezmann. The truth is that, for example, against Dortmund, they only shot on target once in 90 minutes despite hacing the big three o for half an hour.
Barca drew and it has now been 18 years since the team had failed to win six away games in a row. It had not happened since 2001.
In the previous season, Barcelona lost 2-0 at the Balaidos and then ended up suffering of the biggest setbacks in their history when Liverpool beaten them at Anfield. In those two matches, they conceded six goals.
They drew at 2-2 at the Ipurua and in the 2019-20 season, they have already lost at San Mames as well as drawing at El Sadar and Signal Iduna Park. It is evident what Barca's weak points is at the moment.
In the coming games they will have to try and get back to winning ways and Leo Messi could help lead the change as he has now recovered from his injury. Barca need the Argentine to start scoring goals for them.
