La Liga clubs passed the change of several rules this Wednesday during the General Extraordinary Assembly in Dubai, where Real Madrid and Barcelona were present remotely.
The passed changes are to do with the compensation for categorical neglect, security in stadiums and questions about the economic and disciplinary control, according to source from La Liga.
The clubs, 40 who whom were there in person, also discussed the necessary modifications to adjust to the future Ley del Deporte, which is in the Senate to end its parlamentary tramitation.
La Liga 's assembly took place in Dubai today within the iniciative of getting more involed with the Middle East and North of Africa, which was previously passed by the Ordinary General Assembly, with special funds dedicated to Dubai, according to what president Javier Tebas explained yesterday to media in Doha.
"Being here means we're continuing to grow. We started in Dubai in 2014, and we've spent eight years working in offices making ourselves grow in the region. That is the reason for the trip. You've got to be here to do business, to do it physically; the Spanish embassy explained it to us very well", Tebas said, who led the session.
On the 30th November, Real Madrid and Barcelona said they were against the Assembly being in Dubai. Madrid said it was "illegal", "unjustifiable", "inappropriate" and "incoherent", and the Barca did not think it "necessary to travel for something which could easily be done in La Liga's HQ".
During their stay in Dubai, La Liga clubs have participated in differing immersion sessions in the area, whose focus has been on how the public consume the entertainment content, and how the clubs should speak to them to best connect with them, as well as taking part in one about EA Sports, the new sponsor from next season.
