According to the 'Daily Mail' and 'The Times', Real Madrid and Man Utd were the brains behind the European Super League. They have now persuaded many clubs to join them.
At the moment, 12 clubs have reportedly agreed to take part in the competition. Barcelona are reportedly among them after signing the agreement on Saturday.
According to 'Mundo Deportivo', Barcelona signed the deal to join the European Super League before playing in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao.
A few months back, in his goodbye, Josep Maria Bartomeu announced that Barca had agreed to this project and it was ratified by Joan Laporta's board.
Sources close to Barca told 'Cadena SER' that they believe this to be the right decision, especially from a financial viewpoint given clubs have been badly affected by COVID-19.
