The Welshman made his 117th La Liga appearance in the 3-1 win, taking him above Beckham's previous record of 116.
Bale joined the Spanish giants back in 2013, making his debut against Villarreal and would almost certainly have beaten the record faster had it not been for a succession of injury problems.
The 'Cardiff Express' was a key player for Carlo Ancelotti during his debut season in Spain as he helped his new side to a Copa del Rey and Champions League double, even getting on the scoresheet in the final in Rome against Atletico Madrid.
Whilst injuries have limited his involvement at times, Bale remains a key player in the eye of Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
As well as the appearance record, Bale also holds the record for the most LaLiga goals scored by a British player, with his tally of 61 strikes significantly higher than the 42 managed by Gary Lineker during his spell with Barcelona in the late 1980s.
With so few British players making the move to LaLiga, Bale's records could stand for some time.
