Real Madrid returned to training this Tuesday with the absence of eleven players with international commitments. Karim Benzema continued taking steps in his recovery and is already working with the ball on the turf.
The French player suffered a muscular injury during the last day of the La Liga Santander that Real Madrid played in Valencia with a 4-1 defeat. A week later, Benzema is still recovering with the idea of trying to get fit for the match that his team will play against Villarreal next Saturday.
Uruguayan Fede Valverde and right-back Alvaro Odriozola did not train with normality and instead trained apart from the squad in order to continue their recoveries.
None of them will play the next game. Valverde was also injured in Valencia and suffered an injury in his right leg, while Odriozola was diagnosed with a calf injury in his left leg on October 3rd, so his return to the pitch should be close if all goes to plan.
The rest of the squad, except for those called up with their national teams (Sergio Ramos, Asensio, Kroos, Lunin, Modric, Varane, Courtois, Jovic, Odegaard, Vinícius and Rodrygo) and the players with coronavirus (Casemiro, Militao and Hazard), trained with the Frenchman, Zinedine Zidane, whobrought in players from the youth squad to fill up the training session.
The French coach directed a training session that had the ball and the physical conditioning exercises as protagonists, according to the official website of Real Madrid.
