Australian FA forecast $7m losses

The newly rebranded Australian FA expects to lose $7.3m in the financial year 2020-21 as the coronavirus pandemic hits the sport hard down under.

The Australian FA has rebranded as Football Federation Australia (FFA) and forecast losses of $7.3m for the most recent financial year.

It adds to the economic woes that have wreaked havoc recently in Australia after the FA lost nearly two million dollars in 2019-20.

The coronavirus pandemic has compounded problems with the FFA also predicting that the worst impact is yet to come. Total revenue will reportedly fall by $30m.

This is just another example of how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting football and could spell the end for some clubs around the world.
