Atletico score five in one game for first time in 111 matches

Atletico were on fire at El Sadar. Osasuna conceded five in their home match against Atletico Madrid. 

It is not easy for Simeone to score five against their opponents. Thanks to ProFootballDB data we know that it is exactly 111 competitive games since Atletico scored that number of goals against an opponent. 

In other words, two years and three months. The last club to concede five goals against Atletico Madrid was Lokomotiv Moscow (1-5) in March 2018 in the Europa League last 16. 

Atletico Madrid have scored thrashed teams since then, but they scored more than five goals and it was in a friendly. For example, in summer 2019, Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid 7-3. 

'Los Colchoneros' are fighting for a Champions League spot next year. Against Osasuna they showed that they are good enough, but they cannot rest on their laurels. 

A special mention goes for Diego Costa, who played his 200th game for Atletico Madrid and who Koke who made his 309th appearance for them. That took him past Arteche, as 'Mundo Deportivo' tells us.
