Stefan Savic is one of Atletico's most important central defenders and above all, in a season which has seen many new faces arrive. They all have to adapt to Simeone's demands in defence.
The Montenegro coach Faruk Hadzibegic has confessed that the Spanish club told Savic not to go with his country in order to try and recover as quickly as possible and prevent a relapse.
"He's a true leader. He was recommended by his club not to come, to better stay in Madrid, but he came and he deserves lots of respect for that," Hadzibegic said.
He also made clear that Savic is receiving all the medical treatment he requires so that he can play without any trouble: "The medical staff are working to prepare him for the Czech Republic game. I'm glad he's here both as a player and because of his personality. He's a true leader."
