Aletico want to make the most of Saul's potential departure this summer by bringing in a player of similar or better quality to play up top. Bernardo Silva is someone that is held in high regard at the Metropolitano.
Sources in England suggest that Manchester City would be willing to try and sign Saul, who appears to have his mind made up about an exit from the Spanish capital in order to gain experience elsewhere, following an irregular season of performances.
The player has been labelled with a 70 million euros price tag, which is about the same as that of City's Bernardo Silva. Silva also suffered from lack of game time under Guardiola last season but, at 26-years-old, he still has the potential to be one of Europe's biggest names for years to come.
It won't be an easy deal, as City hold Bernardo Silva in very high regard ever since his arrival from Ligue 1. His agent, Jorge Mendes, could be the key in facilitating his move to Atletico Madrid.
At the moment, the deal is no more than a proposal. Saul wants to leave and Bernardo Silva would be the perfect exchange for Simeone, however Guardiola and co. will certainly have to mull the decision over.
