Edinson Cavani's Atletico Madrid future is linked to Diego Costa's. If the Spanish-Brazilian leaves, the Uruguayan will become the main priority for 'Los Colchoneros'.
But Diego Costa has no intention of leaving Atletico Madrid. According to 'Marca', Costa is clear he wants to continue and make up for lost time at the Wanda.
Injuries have prevented the Spain international from playing much last season and his contract expires in 2021. The striker wants to fight to get back into Simeone's team.
That would prevent Cavani's move because Atletico have already got Angel Correa, Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix as well as Diego Costa to play as the main striker.
Atletico are still going ahead with their decision to sign the Uruguayan. The journalist Nicolo Schira says that Atleti have offered the Uruguayan striker a three year contract.
Cavani, that said, will have to choose. The PSG footballer, according to 'AS', could renew and stay at the Parisian outfit next season. Even more so after Mauro Icardi's departure.
The second option Cavani has is a move to Inter Milan. Because of Lautaro Martinez's possible move to Barcelona, Inter would go all out for the striker.
But there is also interest in the Uruguayan from the Premier League. Newcastle, set to become the richest club in the league, want to reinforce key positions with top quality footballers. That could see Cavani move to the North-East.
