Atletico Madrid internationals join squad for Club World Cup

Atletico Madrid's five Argentine internationals, as well as Slovenia's Jan Oblak, Norway's Alexander Sorloth and England's Conor Gallagher joined the 'Colchoneros' training camp in Los Angeles (United States) on Wednesday, according to the club.
The Argentines -Julian Alvarez, Rodrigo de Paul, Nahuel Molina, Giuliano Simeone and Angel Correa- played last Tuesday a South American qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup against Colombia at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires, with a 1-1 draw.
With the arrival of these eight players, Atletico are only waiting for the addition in the next few hours of Jose Maria Gimenez, who also played with Uruguay against Venezuela (2-0) in a World Cup qualifier in Montevideo.
Atletico Madrid landed on Wednesday in Los Angeles, where on Sunday they will make their debut in the FIFA Club World Cup against Luis Enrique's Paris Saint-Germain, Champions League winners.
The Spanish club travelled from Madrid with 15 first-team players and six youth players, while awaiting the arrival of the nine players called up with their national teams. On Wednesday, the club held their first training session in Los Angeles, still awaiting the arrival of the internationals.
