Chelsea acquired the sevices of Saul last summer. They agreed on a loan deal until June 2022, with an option to buy the Atletico player.
But Saul's time at Stamford Bridge has not gone to plan. Chelsea have decided to let the central midfielder return to his former club. According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid were made aware of this a few weeks ago.
Saul will return to Madrid on 1st July. However, he won't be able to spend a lot of time at the Wanda Metropolitano. 'Mundo Deportivo' report that his future may lie at Sevilla, a club which he could join on loan.
Julen Lopetegui knows him perfectly as he was his manager for Spain. He believes that Saul is the player that Sevilla have been missing in the middle of the pitch.
The Catalan newspaper highlights that Saul would welcome a move to the Sanchez-Pizjuan. He believes that he can get back to his best there, something which he was unable to do in the Premier League.
Saul has already said goodbye to Chelsea fans on his social media. He hopes that his time at Chelsea will at least serve to help him "improve and learn" in his career.
