Ramos made clear what he thinks of Atletico. "For me, Atletico are not an enemy, that's a very ugly word. Enemies are something else. For me, they are just a rival," he said.
The Real Madrid captain stated that the squad want to win the Super Cup once again. "We are still happy to win. On Sunday we have a final against Atletico, a rival which has got there on merit. We are hear to win the title," he said.
"The match against Atletico is not going to be easy, but our win percentage against them is quite good and we want to keep that up," he continued.
Ramos gave his opinion on the new format for the Super Cup. "The format is not up to us, but up to the Federation. I think it now has more value because of the teams in it. It benefits us. In the past, the league champions and cup winners played it. It has not altered the calendar, it's well organised and we've been treated brilliantly here. If this has been to benefit the clubs and the Federation then you shouldn't see it as negative."
The defender also praised Zidane. "His role choosing which players to play is the most difficult and he does it very well. Since he arrived, I have always been clear that he is a great coach. As time goes on, it's improving," Ramos highlighted. "We are the same side which won three Champions Leagues. We are not surprised at how we are playing. We hope it stays this way until the end of the season."
"It's true we've suffered injuries, there are people who are out, but we'll do everything possible whoever plays," Ramos explained when asked about Real Madrid's problems this season. Ramos does not think Real Madrid have got problems in front of goal.
Ramos hopes to show his best version: "I hope to be at my best to help the teams in the Super Cup. I feel very good, I'm in one of my best moments."
Keeping a clean sheet will be key. "An error can cost you the match. You have to remain solid in defence and try and hurt Atletico Madrid. We have studied that the last few days and there are ways to do it," the Real Madrid man revealed. He would not give further information when pressed on it by journalists.
Nobody at Real Madrid remembers the 3-7 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the USA. "No, we are fully focussed on this season now rather than thinking about what happened in pre-season," he concluded.
