Barcelona aren't hiding that they want to strengthen the centre of defence. If on Saturday they were again linked with the young Alessandro Bastoni, 'Sport' confirmed one day later that Inter haven't forgotten about a rival of the Inter player, Milan CB Alessio Romagnoli.
The reports from Barca started to gain importance in January, before the exit of Todibo, and a few months later they are back in the news.
Romagnoli is a LCB and Barcelona are especially interested in signing a player of that profile. The Barcelona source states a price of around 50 million euros for the Milan defender, whose contract ends in a distant 2022.
Milan, however, are trying to renew his contract as soon as possible. He is capped by Italy and is totally settled in the league. Chelsea and Manchester United are also following him.
The ideal scenario for Barca would be to include Ivan Rakitic or Rafinha in the deal. Fundamentally the Croatian, who Milan like quite a lot. However, Rakitic prefers to go to Sevilla and will try to make the option good.
Before football was halted to fight against the pandemic, Romagnoli had played 25 matches. He is one of the first names on the team sheet at Milan, as he already played 42 and 41 matches in the last 2 campaigns.
