Steve Bruce accepts that holding onto the player may be a "difficult" task, but with Deadline Day edging closer and no team having offered close to Villa's asking price, it seems as if Grealish will stay in the Championship.
The midfielder started on Monday in Aston Villa's 3-1 win at Hull City, and came off to a standing ovation from the Aston Villa faithful.
When speaking to 'Sky Sports', Bruce said: "A top, top player. He is a wonderful talent. We will do our best to keep hold of him, but it is going to be difficult.
"We understand the human side. He will want to play in the Premier League, Europe, Champions League.
"The owner has made it clear that he wants him to stay. To be fair to Jack, he has got on with it."
Steve Bruce has also expressed that if the club receive a "magical figure" for Grealish's services, then it is possible that the player could depart for a higher division.
