Aston Villa have continued their pre-season in fine fashion. This Wednesday, the English club overcame Brisbane Roar 0-1 and earned themselves their second consecutive victory in the QLD Champions Cup which is taking place in Townsville.
The young Cameron Archer (20 years old) scored the only goal of the game as his manager, Steven Gerrard, fielded a strong team. He played the majority of his regular starters against the Australian outfit.
Despite the evident difference in quality between the two teams, it took Villa until the 77th minute to break the deadlock after the two second half substitutes, Archer and Jacob Ramsey, linked up beautifully.
The Villians' started the match with the following lineup: Emiliano Martinez, Matty Cash, Calum Chambers, Diego Carlos, Lucas Digne. John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara, Philippe Coutinho, Leon Bailey, Danny Ings and Bertrand Traore.
With this victory, the English club have now completed the Australian triangular tournament with two victories out of two. A few days ago, they beat Leeds United, again by a scoreline of 1-0. They are due to meet Manchester United for their next friendly on 23rd July.
