Following his suspension from the club earlier in June, it has been announced that Aston Villa's chief executive Keith Wyness has left the club.
Following his arrival at Villa in 2016, Wyness oversaw £80 million in transfers.
This announcement comes as the club are facing financial trouble after they avoided a winding-up order issued last week. Their board will meet soon to decide the future of their high-profile players, such as 22 year-old midfielder Jack Grealish who has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, in a bid to try and balance the books at Villa Park.
It is also believed that following his departure, Mr Wyness will be taking legal action against the club for constructive dismissal.
Owner Dr Tony Xia has taken over his role as chief executive, although it is unclear whether this is in a temporary or permanent capacity.
