Former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has confirmed that he is hanging up his boots to take up a coaching role at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.
The 34-year-old, who joined Arsenal in 2011 following a successful spell with Everton, won two FA Cups and two Community Shields with Arsene Wenger's side, but was convinced he had played his final game when he came on in Arsenal's last game of the 2015-16 campaign.
The Spaniard has a very good relationship withthe new City boss, and has been linked with a move to the City coaching team for some months now.
And Arteta has now posted a touching message to all of his fans, revealing his decision
