Arsene Wenger's downfall at Arsenal in the last two seasons saw the club slip out of the top-four, where they had cemented their position for 21 years.
The Frenchman chose to abdicate the throne at the end of last season after a disappointing sixth-place finish. He was replaced by former PSG manager Unai Emery who took the helm at the Emirates earlier this week.
"It's a little bit of a mixed feeling," said Aubameyang about Wenger's departure.
"Over the last few seasons – you have to tell the truth – the club has stagnated a little bit. I think everyone is actually a little bit excited to see what happens next season," he continued.
Aubameyang arrived in North London in January from Dortmund and scored 10 league goals in just 13 appearances. The Gabonese striker will now be hoping to continue his fine form under Emery's reign.
