Torreira says Arsenal deserve a place in next year's Champions League due to the size of the club. After a two-year absence from Champions League action, Arsenal has the ability to force its way back into the top four, says the Uruguayan. A Champions League spot for Arsenal would mean that Lucas Torreira would make his debut in the top-tier of European competition.
After recent wins over Chelsea and Tottenham at the Emirates stadium, Torreira believes Arsenal are capable of competing with the best. However, after a poor run of form - four league defeats from nine - the Arsenal finds itself out of the Champions League qualifying positions.
Torreira stated that "qualifying is something which is very much on our minds. The squad is focused on qualifying for the Champions League because a big club like Arsenal deserves to be in that competition."
