22 year-old Uruguyan midfielder Torreira seems to be close to making a move to the Emirates, with his current team advertising the €25 million release clause that is in the player's contract.
Torreira, who has made over 70 appearances in his two years at the Italian club, is currently with the Uruguyan national side in Russia preparing for their World Cup campaign.
Should the move go through, this will be Arsenal's second confirmed signing of the window following the acquisition of Swiss right-back Phillip Liechsteiner on a free transfer, although the Gunners have also had a £16 million bid accepted for Borussia Dortmund's Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
