Maradona, currently manager of Dorados de Sinaloa in the Mexican top flight, has spoken out about the Argentina national team in a recent press conference after their recent 3-1 defeat to Venezuela.
"Venezuela is a team in good shape and Argentina went into the game via the window rather than the door, betraying and lying to their people. This team does not deserve to wear the shirt, they do not have a f*****g idea what they're doing", he commented, before predicting success for his compatriot Gerardo 'Tata' Martino as manager of the Mexican national team.
"Very good debut for 'Tata' Martino, I am sure that he will bring much happiness to Mexico. Although he doesn't know much about the football here, he had a very good first game. To score three goals against Chile is surprising", he said.
Mexico beat Chile 3-1 on Thursday in their opening game in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
