West Ham have confirmed that Alphonse Areola is now their player. He has signed new five year contract with the club, until the summer of 2027, with an option of adding another year.
At 29 years old, Areola played a key role in West Ham's Europa League run to the quarter finals, keeping five clean sheets, only conceding five goals and making several crucial saves in his 11 appearances.
"I feel good, really good, I'm happy to sign and happy to stay here permanently and I can't wait to start training and get to work", Areola said.
The keeper who was born in Paris became an important player for the 'Irons' and helped them to some memorable victories in the Carabao Cup over Manchester United, on his debut, and Manchester City, winning player of the round after making seven saves.

""The main thing is that I felt the love from the fans last season. Its really important for me to feel that I'm loved. I know I have to do my job and do everything I can to make them happy, and obviously also the team, my teammates, the staff and Xavi Valero. The atmosphere last season was great, so I just wanted to do everything I could to stay here." he explained.
The number '13' made 29 saves in eleven games, including a vital, spectacular one-handed stop to deny Sevilla's Youssef En-Nesyri to pave the way for West Ham's 2-0 win in the second leg of their last-16 tie at the London Stadium.
David Moyes welcomed Areola's return and commented: "Alphonso made a great contribution to the club last season during his time on loan here last season. His performances backed up why we see him as a top goalkeeper. He brings proven quality and experience at the highest level, both domestically and internationally. We are delighted to have him with us on a permanent basis and look forward to welcoming him back for pre-season."
