Araujo decides to undergo surgery and miss the WC

It seems that Ronald Araujo has already decided the path he will take after the injury he suffered with Uruguay. Although the Uruguayan Football Federation has reportedly pressured the centre-back not to undergo surgery, it seems that he will go under the knife. 

This is what 'Catalunya Radio' and 'Onda Cero' journalist Alfredo Martinez report, explaining that Araujo's wish is to recover 100% and without running the risk of future injuries. 

In addition, the well-known journalist claims on his official Twitter account that the news of the decision taken by the Uruguayan international will be made official on Monday afternoon, and that he will have to be out for between two and three months. 

The Uruguayan position was contrary to that of Barca, but, in the end, it was the player who had the last word, who opted for the most difficult solution and the safest one for his future as a professional player.
