Applause and cheers as Reyes' coffin arrives at the Sevilla football stadium
The room which was supposed to open at 4pm was delayed by 90 minutes because legal paperwork delayed the arrival of the body of the late footballer.
Hundreds of fans were anxiously waiting for the arrival of the coffin which was received by chants of "Reyes, Reyes!" and applause.
The room has been set up in the anteroom of the Sanchez Pizjuan which has been decorated with the three Europa League trophies which Reyes won with his team. There is also a photo of him with the words 'Eternal captain' and a multitude of flowers sent by people, institutions and football clubs.
The Extremadura team, Reyes' teammates since January, are now at the Sanchez Pizjuan to say goodbye to their teammate as well as numerous people from the world of football.
The body will remain at the stadium until 9pm, according to Sevilla, the club where the player made a name for himself. Afterwards, the coffin will be transfer to Utrera, where Reyes was born.
In the meeting room of the town hall there will be another room were people will be able to pay their respects throughtout the night. Finally, on Monday morning at 9.30am, the funeral will take place at the Santa Maria church.
