This Sunday, everybody is talking about Ansu Fati and not without reason. At 16-years-old he has shown the world that he is going to cause trouble, lots of trouble...
Valverde opted to choose him in his starting XI. He was not wrong in his choice. It took Ansu Fati only two minutes to open the scoring and surprise both his own fans and the away ones.
Ansu Fati was on the pitch for 60 minutes, thne he was substituted for Luis Suarez. One hour. Enough time for him, to make everybody speak about him one day later.
His way of playing, his effectiveness and his history, reminiscent of that of Leo Messi. The two started out in La Masia and the two have both dazzled in the first team and these are big words.
But let's go to the figures. So far in La Liga, Ansu Fati has scored two goals. One against Osasuna, where Barcelona were losing until the young talent scored, showing he can be relied upon to save games.
And of course, when thinking about Barcelona, our minds can quickly turn to rivals Real Madrid. The Whites also have a special, young talent: Vinicius.
Real Madrid have grown the young, Flamencan pearl. He started his career in Castilla and, later appeared in the first team.
But Vinicius has not been as accurate as what Ansu Fati has. He has also scored two goals in La Liga... but in the two seasons he has played as a Real Madrid player. In the current season, he has not yet seen the back of the net.
His first goal in the tournament came in November 2018 against Valladolid. Somewhat not without controversy, since the rebound came off a rival defender. The goal, however, was given to Vinicius.
His second goal was against Alaves in February 2019. In the Cup, meanwhile, he scored against Melilla and Leganés. In total, four goals with the first team: two in the League and two more in the Cup.
Two talents, two totally different stories. Ansu Fati, at 16-years-old, has already scored two goals in La Liga, exactly the same as Vinicius. The big difference? The number of minutes it took for them to score.
Ansu Fati is only 16-years-old. Vinicius is 19. The debate is up in the air, but one thing is clear, they are both going to give Spanish football a lot to talk about.
